It's Official....

My baby really is a first grader.  There's no going back now.  Now the real deal begins.  A FULL day of school....lunch and all.  We picked up Miss Sophia's class list today...and yep...her name was on it....in the FIRST grade class.  I'm having some trouble with this if you can't tell...maybe because I did not have a positive first grade experience... I am so nervous for her.  She is already telling me she does not want to go....but I know she will LOVE it.  She has already instructed me that maybe she doesn't need to "purchase" milk everyday... I can just pack her water... right along with her pringles, her sandwich, and maybe a "fresh-baked chocolate chip cookie!"

We still have a little under 3 weeks before the big day....and I really want to cherish every second.  I'm hoping these cookie orders slow down a bit b/c I'd much rather be spending some time with my "once baby all of a sudden turned BIG school girl."

Back to the class list....there are actually 9 girls in her class this year instead of 6...and only ONE other Sophia this year!!! Sophia was thrilled to find one of her good friends is in her same class!!!

Besides all of this exciting news...not much has been going on here.  I am playing catch-up since we returned from our anniversary surprise trip....and I don't even have many pictures to share.... I even vacationed from taking pictures. Except for the picture I took of these....

brought to us by the hotel because they knew it was our anniversary.  I am really not a champagne fan....but weren't these kind of pretty with the little raspberry in my glass??

Have to say thank you to the hubby for shopping and antiquing with me till we literally dropped (It was 102 degrees in Dallas and much hotter in some of those flea market type antique stores who didn't have A/C  ....And a big thank you to Omi and Papa and Auntie E....for taking such good care of our three babies (can't forget Mr. Willie).  Sorry to report no big purchases from our shopping trip...besides... my most favorite gift....

I have been wanting a nice heavy duty brownie pan for quite some time now....Couldn't be more excited.  Now my goal is to get those home-made brownies to taste as good as the Ghiradelli boxed mix.....

So, here it begins... the month of August...back to the school paperwork....back into the early morning routines... it will be here before I know it!

I love that little girl. And....even though I was 'one of those first grade teachers'---my heart is crying. It's like the beginning of the end!!! They grow up too fast, especially in today's world. I'm hoping we can keep this innocence going for just a little while longer. I love hearing her tell me about 'Jesse' and 'Woody'. I love watching how mesmerized she is when we read together. Like I said---I just love that girl! I'm wishing for a fantabulous year. <3 Yiayia
